I'm quite sick today with a horrible throat infection.Tonight, after t-ball, Kini came home and asked to do trade-sies with me, which is where I kiss the palm of his hand
and then he squeezes his hand tight so my heart is now in his heart, and then we reverse. (this started when he was having separation anxiety when he was younger). After trade-sies, he said "don't worry Mommy, my hero germs will fight your villain germs and you'll get better".
ach, I couldn't love him more if
I tried

one snaps and one claps
Nuby has really been enjoying clapping these past few days, an showing off his 4 teeth. let's hope
we get a bit of a break: 4 teeth in 4 weeks felt like I was being punished for something!

As a special treat today, I was holding Nuby and he started making the sign for 'milk' and when I responded by asking (and signing) "would you like some milk?" Nubs started grinning and clapping his hands. I LOVE that they pick signing up and can really show you what they're looking for.

little milestones
a few things going on here: pouring over the Scholastic book order form (a right of passage, in my opinion), the ever present Lego Star Wars ship in various configurations in the background, the bracelet that holds the reward beads for practicing his music every day, and my sweet boy showing off his new found skill: snapping his fingers. He finally got it!

new friends
Kini found a few new friends in our townhouse complex which is thrilling beyond belief for both of us. they're older kids, in the 10, 11 and 12 range and seem to enjoy the novelty of having a much younger kid around. it's completely changed the dynamic of our day: Kini now asks to go outside and see if the kids are there. if they are, off he goes with them, while I periodically check outside to see if I can hear them as they tend to play around the corner. if they aren't around, he's opting to play on his own outside, while a very confused little brother looks on.

daily smile
tonight during his bath, kini asked "why do they call the national anthem 'Old Canada'?"
I burst out laughing, I couldn't help it. Ahh, the sweetness that is the 4 year old boy.
and, in his defense, I remember when I actually saw the words to 'Oh Canada' written out after many many years of singing it in school, I was shocked at how wrong I'd been singing it!
